Consumer Protection
Representing consumers and businesses before the consumer commissions at every level.
Consumer law gives individuals and small businesses a practical remedy against deficient service and defective goods without the cost and delay of ordinary civil litigation. We appear for complainants and for respondents before the consumer commissions at every level.
Our work covers complaints against builders for delay in possession, defects, and failure to deliver amenities, against hospitals and doctors for medical negligence and deficiency of service, against banks and insurance companies for wrongful repudiation and unfair practices, against e-commerce platforms and service providers, and against manufacturers for defective goods. We also advise businesses on compliance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and defend them in complaints that are not made out.
Complaints are filed before the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, and appeals go to the State Commission and then to the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. Questions of law are carried to the Supreme Court of India. The consumer forums are designed to be accessible, but the pleadings and the evidence still determine the outcome, and we prepare both with care.
